Photo above is of Me and Marty Markowitz, Borough President of Brooklyn and Original Head. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. He served as a New York State Senator for over two decades and is currently serving the City of Brooklyn. Marty is a cool guy. He asked me take some photos of my Brooklyn Tattoos for his Newspaper. Fellow St. John's University Graduate Rapper J.Cole

To be honest the first time I ever heard J.Cole was on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3. It's weird we went to the same school around the same years and I never had a class with him and we never bumped into each other. I graduated in 2006 and he did in 2007. My last year in St.Johns I was in Recording Engineering school and attended the Manhattan Campus for my regular St.John's class, I still had to take. But anyway I went back and downloaded "The Come Up" and "The Warm Up" . Still listening to It, It sounds good. The kid is good. I Like the track he did on the Kanye Half price beat "College Boy". North Carolina produces a lot of good Rapper's believe It or not, Look at Little Brother (Phonte and Big Pooh) which is my favorite Hip Hop group. I drove through the whole North Carolina on my way to Florida bumping all of there music. Shout to the 919. I checked J.Cole's brief documentary "A Star Is Born" and love It. Hey Karsten from Imperial Marketing/Frshpulp what's up I see you in the video trying to capture your own footage laugh out loud. Perhaps we will cross paths someday, but till then keep doing your thing Jermaine. You got my support we're a part of the same Alma Mater. Take them back to Marillic on the album boi.

Even McDonald's in Paris Fronts, Pharrell your included too

Pharrell's marketing scheme is hilarious, but he still doesn't get a big Mac. Mcdonald's has world class treatment in Brooklyn It's crazy sometimes. I only eat Big Mac's, Premium chicken sandwiches, and Nuggets when I go there anyway. Which isn't to often.

Drake "So far gone"

I know we haven't been posting like we usually do. If your looking for something new to groove to on the iPod, Car, in the house with your lady. Check out Drake So far gone mixtape. I listened to It and I really like It. I actually would love to work with the kid. I got some tracks that he can lace. But the mixtape has several tracks that's in my heavy rotation list no payola just quality. The guy is that good. I heard his music on 99 jam while I was in Florida and you already know how NY Is. Right now "Sooner than later", "November 18th", "A Night off" is several of my favorites. But go download It. It's funny because this guy has been out for a while he was on one of my favorite rap groups mixtape a while back Little Brother's Stall & Dean Good Clothes. Don't sleep though this isn't Degrassi, Multi-talented wheel chair Jimmy's lyrics is on point with the nice production to back It.

Good news for Blackberry users that own a Mac.

Here's a little tech news. I'm happy to hear about this, I've been a blackberry user for quite sometime now and wondered when RIM was going to come out with an application to sync the Blackberry to the Mac. I always had to use my sister PC In order to download new software or transfer the information from the old phone to new phone.

My take on Asher Roth "His Dream"

This is an excellent, well written song by the young MC known as Asher Roth. This song has really touched me because many people come from broken homes and some don't. I was fortunate up until I was about to start college. When my parents got divorced. It affected me, but It hit my younger brother and sister harder. People don't understand when your so used to someone being there in your life daily to be your backbone and support. Then that person is prematurely gone, that can be detrimental to your success in this tough world. Much respect to Asher's father. The meaning of the song below is deep. I got this from Ruby Hornet
-Patrick King

From Asher Roth:
"Nobody knows about this song but this song is written about my father and my relationship with my father. I think it’s hella interesting in Hip-Hop especially that the father is the figure that always walks out and wasn’t there. There’s always this glorification of a broken home, and don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful thing to share that story, but in my household my father was the one who kind of packed it in when he had kids. He started having children and when he had his first child he was like, “alright, I can’t be running around and trying to chase my dream.” And his dream was that he wanted to be a writer and free lance writing doesn’t pay the bills like that and now he’s got mouths to feed so he packed it in and gets a job and those sacrifices to me were incredible. His dream was special to me because my father was like, ‘take it off the album, I don’t want it on the album, it’s embarrassing to me because I didn’t do anything. All I did was take on the responsibility of a parent.” And I was like, “exactly!” People do not do that, they have these kids and they continue to just do what they do and the next thing you hear is that the father walks out on his son and you weren’t there for me and this and that.

So I wrote a song about his dream, and my father’s dream after he packed it in with writing was making sure that I was happy and making sure that I was doing something that I loved to do. So he put it all to the side and just decided to be a responsible parent and to me, we should be glorifying that, not glorifying the fact that pops decided to walk out. For me, it's a very special song, my dad has been a main stay and making sure that I’m healthy and happy. Every time I have a problem he is there to help me talk about it and I think it’s very important to understand that. You might come from a broken home, a lot of people do. You see marriage – what the divorce rate is crazy – so to have parents that have stayed together is a luxury. I’m absolutely blessed, and I just want people to understand the sacrifices. A lot of the time people get into these relationships and they get married and they're in lust and they love each other on that love, but when they have children they raise kids differently and it’s the children that actually get in the way. It's interesting because some parents will stay together for the kids and I think that’s really important. I’m sure he had some moments where – because my mom is completely left and he is completely right, he is very strict and my mom is a free spirit so they’re total opposites – but my dad stuck it out and was very much a pillar in my life and the reason why I am successful to this day and I think it's important for people to understand. Kids flip out sometimes when their parents ground them and the “I hate you, I hate you!” and they don’t realize the sacrifices their parents have to make on a daily to drive them to baseball practice or to their friends house or anything like that. There are daily sacrifices that parents have to make to make their kids happy and I really want people to understand that. So “His Dream” is a very special record to me in the sense of not only is it personal in the sense that this is my relationship with my father, but on a broader sense it is glorifying the fact that something as simple as being a responsible parent. I think it’s important that people understand that.”

I Like this song by Kanye West and the video "PARANOID" Starring Rihanna, Film Noir

This song has a nice feel to It. Mr. Hudson is on the backing vocals. The video has many elements of Film Noir. It's Rihanna's first public return back in something involving music since the incident with Chris Brown in February.

Michael Jackson "The King of Pop" will be missed (R.I.P.)

It's very weird I had a Dream about MJ the night before he passed, But It was the other great Michael Jordan. I actually met him in this Dream and he signed a Air Jordan t-shirt I had. It had to be a Dream because If It was real I would of sprinted to one of my unworn pairs of kicks like the 14's and have him sign those. It's a bad day for Music. My favorite Pop star of all time has reached his final resting point. He was a great Inspiration to me just read my bio on here. I will miss Michael along with many other fans. I know your really sad, Divine owner of Make over Barber shop in Brooklyn. I can't even elaborate at the moment. A once living Legend from my time has passed. My Condolences go out to the Jackson family. I'm listening to Thriller the song as I type this. I Love the Intro It sound's like a ride down a sunny highway theme. I will be spinning a Michael Jackson tribute at Wealthy Ho$tage this weekend. If you can't make It there watch me live at www.stickam.com/djPaulkersey. I can't type no more bout to choke up I'm out with "Break of Dawn"
