Sadam Ali Representing the Great Boro of Brooklyn at the Olympics
Big shout to 19 year old Sadam "World Kid" Ali, A 2008 U.S. Olympian. I know this kid from my neighborhood in Canarsie. I seen him training for some years now at the Starrett City boxing gym. He's a great fighter, and he's very fast. I always knew his ethic would take him places. Before making the Olympic team he won the National Golden Gloves two years in a row. I remember him always coming to my father's Pizza shop a couple years ago. He would always update my pops about what was going on in his career. He's a very humble young man. We would dap each other anytime we meet in the area. Check him out in Beijing this Summer. I wish this kid luck, and hopes he brings home a Gold Medal. Whatever happens though he plans on going pro after the Olympics, I know he will also achieve success on that level. Check out the rest here.

Reflection at Canarsie Pier
I know its been a while since my last post so I took the liberty to update on my Blackberry while I was at the Brooklyn pier in my neighborhood. I was listing to several songs on my iPod from Sade to Scarface. But the song that really touched me, made me close my eyes and kind of lifted my spirt while I was listening to it was "Someday" by Scarface featuring Faith Evans from "The Fix" album. The Neptunes produced the track. The lyrics are so deep I must of played that track back 10 times in a row. I haven't been feeling a 100% lately. That's due to things going on in my life. My crappy paying job is the main factor. The bosses want me to do more for same, and there telling me I should do these things to preserve my job. I may even get laid off. I'm just a pawn in this rat race. I'm at the point where I don't care. I made 4 years of college and don't get compensated for it. I get treated like I don't even have a high school diploma or GED. I got bills and student loans above my head. I could of did something about it a little earlier in the year. But I kind of became stagnant waiting on a promising opportunity. More than 1 shall I say. That was one of the biggest mistakes in my life. Because it had me looking chapped lipped and stupid. I published this for whoever to read this. You may not know me but learn from one of my mistakes. "Don't ever put your eggs in one basket" I didn't have a spectacular summer, didn't really go any where but work everyday. Couldn't afford to. It was so tough I left my car parked up and took the MTA several times to work this summer, just to have some money to eat and still hit broke. I work until after 1am waiting on those trains at that time is not fun. I reached a point in my life where I'm putting my aspirations on the back burner. Reality is Reality. I got to make some changes in my life as a man, and I have already sacrificed certain things to take those measures. I'll make it I'm a survivor.
